(Create Your Vision with Dream Space)
Dream Space is an appreciative visioning and action planning process in which people come together to create a shared sustainable vision that aligns with their current strengths and trends and inspires congruent actions, learning, projects, experiments, and collaborations.
Based on the wisdom and principles of Appreciative Leadership, Dream Space is a visioning and action planning process that's:
- Designed for any kind of communities - civic, work, faith, and common purpose communities
- Ideal for diverse groups of any size with complex or new challenges and opportunities
- Facilitated to be engaging and empowering
- Biased toward action beyond just-talk
- Creative, collaborative, appreciative, solutions-focused, and strengths-based
- Supported by Open Space and other dynamic and creative processes

Dream Space is a process organized and energized by 7 powerful questions:
- What kind of pictures of our community 20 years from now would be attractive to us?
- Where are there alignments among our collective versions of the future?
- Where are there alignments between our shared vision and current positive trends inside & outside our community?
- What would it mean to act congruently today with our shared vision?
- What strengths do we have today that could support these congruent actions?
- What new strengths would help us support these actions?
- What new projects, experiments, and collaborations could support our shared vision?
Dream Space is based on 3 core observations:
- The depth of our collective passion is directly related to the reach of our collective vision
- Our collective potentials are unlimited when they're based on our strengths
- Our collective images of our future have the transformational power to attract, energize, and organize the kinds of beliefs and behaviors that create the conditions for manifesting these future images
The conditions that make Dream Space a process of authentic community engagement:
- The process involves people across all key stakeholder groups
- In the process, people focus on what's most important to them
- People are involved in decisions early on as participants rather than reactors
- People come away from the process knowing more about their community
- It is a process, not an event - it is passion & data driven as much as possible
- The decision making "givens" and "politics" are transparent up front in the process
- The process keeps people involved through implementation
