Conscious Becoming is an invitation to a new conversation. It's the conversation about what it means to be conscious in everyday living. It is inspired by the observation that conscious people are easier to live with, work with, learn with, and play with.
We're living in an age where we're now having new conversations about the possibility of harmony and freedom in our relationships and our lives. It has become clear to many of us that the transformation of our communities will come about because of the presence and engagement of conscious people. One of the clearest signs of being conscious is that we see ourselves surrounded by possibilities. We discover our true nature as a source of new possibilities. And in the process, our relationships with ourselves, each other, and our world are forever transformed.
Based on 4 simple truths, Conscious Becoming is written in the style of the Tao te Ching, the ancient book of eastern wisdom that has inspired many of us to deeper levels of being and becoming. Like the Tao, this work is a collection of verses in 81 sections, each of which explores a different dimension of consciousness. It is written to infuse quiet reflection and practice in the dailiness of our lives.

It is our nature to be conscious.
When we’re conscious
we live by four simple truths.
Everything in life happens
the moment it becomes fully possible.
Whatever story we tell ourselves about reality
is only one possible story.
Whatever we’re doing right now
is only one possible thing to do.
We don’t need a different reality
to do what else is possible right now.
When we’re conscious,
we’re in harmony with reality.
9
This is the song of consciousness.
Sail with the wind,
swim with the current,
cut with the grain,
trust the wisdom of the earth.
Follow the terrain,
flow with the traffic,
honor the natural course of things.
Reality rewards the effortless
with yields far beyond
what opposition and resistance
could ever imagine.

19
Conscious people
are obvious.
The footprint of their curiosity,
their sense of possibility
is endless, far beyond
the measure of their personal
past, place, perspective, practice, or purpose.
They cherish their inhale into the unknown
as much as their exhale of the known.

35
Whether we like it or not,
whether we approve of it or not,
whether it makes sense or not,
things are the way they are,
because they have become fully possible.
And if in the process, we realize
that what we do right now
makes something else more fully possible,
we discover our power,
and dwell in a calm sense of possibility.
