- With undergraduate (John Carroll University) and graduate (Goddard College, Vermont) degrees in psychology, Jack's career began in the mid-1970's in outpatient behavioral health and wellness training.
- By the mid-1980's, Jack's work included corporate training in a variety of professional development areas as well as undergraduate teaching and advising in psychology, communications, and business. Through his work with an expanding variety of industries, Jack's projects shifted in emphasis to include leadership development and his consulting and training focused on quality management, teamwork, and process improvement.
- By the 1990's, Jack's projects began to include work in the area of innovation and leadership -- natural outgrowths of work in quality and his research for Collaborative Creativity (published in 1997). In the mid-1990's, having worked in a variety of projects as project manager and coach across over 20 industries, and teaching at the MBA level, Jack's work expanded to more emphasis on executive coaching and writing. These projects included product and system development, teambuilding, restructuring, and process improvement projects.
- Jack's second book, Accidental Conversations was published in 2002. His third book, Project Zen was published in 2003 and fourth, Appreciative Leadership was published in 2004. "Mountains Paths" was published in 2006.
- Today, Jack's work is balanced across providing services as facilitator, project and executive coach, writer, and speaker. He continues as co-founder and principal for a new firm, Smart Meeting Design.
