I’ve long been interested in what it means to be
conscious. Every day, we interact with people
along the whole continuum from conscious to
unconscious.
What’s obvious is that conscious people are easier
to live with, work with, and play with. To strive to be
more conscious is the highest intention to which we
can aspire.
Conscious Becoming is an invitation to explore what
it means to become more conscious in our world.
It is written in the style of the Tao te Ching, the
ancient book of eastern wisdom that has inspired
many of us to deeper levels of being and becoming.
Like the Tao, this work is a collection of
verses in 81 sections and reflects the powerful
themes in many of Jack’s other books, including
Zen practice, the new sciences, and appreciative
approaches to life and work.
My hope is that it becomes an invitation to new
possibilities of reflection and conversation.
